Do voices like sweet flute, and sweet tenor in the PSR-2000/2100 have a vibrato programed into the voice? I say this because when I play the sweet tenor on my PSR-550, even though I have no modulation wheel, the voice has vibrato programed into it. This would normally be accomplished with a modulation wheel for more control over the voice. Do the PSR-2000/2100's have this vibrato in the voice, and if so does it conflict with using the modulation wheel?

Yes... I detect a very slight vibrato in the Sweet Tenor. But I really had to listen to catch it. It seems to be a bit more pronounced when playing two or more harmony notes at the same time.

Does it conflict with the mod wheel? Not at all. The wheel simply gives you the opportunity for additional vibrato.

Interesting... The vibrato on the sweet tenor in my PSR-550 isn't light. It actually seems like it is being used with a modulation wheel, and I think to acutally use the sweet tenor sound on my 550 with a modulation wheel would make the vibrato too heavy.. I wonder if Yamaha compensated for the lack of a modulation wheel and added more vibrato to the sound because of this.. Hmmmmmm

I like the vibrato to kick in a second or so after the note starts......just my opinion.

I could be wrong, but I thought these Sweet voices had sampled vibrato, so it couldn't be programmed...
It was just captured from the real instrument.

The Sweet Tenor on the 740 has a vibrato as do most of the reeds. The vibratos all sound a bit mechanical so maybe they programmed a vibrato in after they sampled the sound. Either that or the guy who they sampled had a vibrato at the tail end of the note and they looped the tail.

My opinion of the PSR 2000's Vibrato on the Tenor Sax or other Sweet Voices "and non-Sweet Voices,- eg., Harmonica, are very well done on the PSR 2000. They sound very realistic to my ears and they "really" shine when played within Midi Files or the accomplished touch of a skilled Keyboardist . Actually, if you have a Professional Midi File or the equivalent, it is really astounding to how good those Sweet and other Vibrato voices can sound.
